Work hard and play hard: To celebrate your hard-earned success in this second anniversary issue, we compiled some of the extravagant ways to travel. Starting from something near to Jakarta, travelling by jet ski to the beautiful Thousand Islands is a new way to have a short—yet thrilling—escape. For this item, we featured the Sea Doo Indonesia Club to see exactly how to do it in an exclusive way.
We also feature some of the unique and opulent accommodations in Jakarta, with a profile of the Westin Jakarta, a hotel in the tallest building in Indonesia.
We also compiled the three most expensive hotel rooms that are newly available in the city. Moving away from Jakarta, there is more to see than Bali. We sampled a luxury resort in Magelang—the Mesastila is a unique and exclusive resort that is surrounded by five mountains, is full of heritage and is located in a working coffee plantation that has been around since the Dutch era.
For something far away and extravagant, we feature Thanda Island. A tropical island with a luxurious villa in the Indian Ocean, it is off the east coast of Tanzania. We also feature Ted Turner’s Casa Grande in New Mexico that, after a multimillion-dollar renovation, is now a luxury vacation rental. Finally, we have the story of an hotelier, Peng Loh, who found his calling turning old buildings into trendy hotels and restaurants from Singapore to Sydney.
For golf fans, on the cover is Jimmy Masrin, who shared with us his passion for golf and how he made it into the top ranks, along with sharing his favorite golf courses around the world. In this issue, we also had a rare interview with football legend Eric Cantona on his collaboration with Hautlence watches, on how to make an Rp 2.6 billion watch.
Last but not least, for the motorheads, we feature an interview with Christian Von Koenigsegg on his latest multi million-dollar hypercar and businesswoman Miri Hwang, who took the new Ferrari California T for a spin.
With this issue, we celebrate the second anniversary of ForbesLife Indonesia, a magazine dedicated to showing you the best in life to celebrate your success.
There are endless possibilities for the best in life—new ways of travelling in luxury, mind-bending new watches, beautiful art to collect, rare wine or whisky to sip, and extravagant vehicles to ride. For next year, we strive to continue to serve you a glimpse of all that, so cheers for the best things in life.
