Dear readers,

In early August, our national golfers will head to the hotly-anticipated regional event, the PGM-IGT Championship. The top Indonesian professional and amateur players will compete head-to-head with some of Malaysia’s best players at the 2018 edition of the event in Melaka, Malaysia.

Indonesia is defending the trophy they claimed last year after defeating Malaysia with a convincing score. Last year’s team captain, Jubilant Harmidy (Teddy) will be leading the 12 man team once again in the Ryder Cup format competition. I sure hope to see another great battle between the two countries.

Another much-anticipated event, this one on a worldwide scale, is the upcoming Ryder Cup, which is hosted by Europe this year. Just like Malaysia, Europe will try to regain the trophy this time around but they’ll be up against a fortified American squad at Le National in France.

We are taking an in-depth look at the strategies and preparations from both the regional and international teams in this edition. We are also here to welcome the Asian Games, the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympics, in Jakarta and Palembang. This is the second time Indonesia hosts the Asian Games since the first time in 1962. Let’s cheer on our athletes! Good luck to everyone taking part!
