We just had the pleasure of watching the Indonesian Masters at the end of last year. Congratulations to Poom Saksansin on his second title at the most prestigious golf event in Indonesia. Facing two world-class players and all of the Asian Tour stars, Poom was still able to take the trophy home with an impressive winning score.
Now, let’s focus on the new year and the worldwide competition. The 2019 season is upon us! Several players are hunting the world No. 1 position this year. Current World No. 1 Justin Rose has made his return to the field after taking a month off. It was Rose’s second start of the PGA Tour season after finishing third in the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in October. Meanwhile, two formers world No. 1s, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson, are both looking for a way to regain their top spot. However, Bryson DeChambeau, and other former No. 1s Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, may make a surprise climb up to the prime position.
Along with some interesting stories from home and abroad, we’re sharing a summary of the new Rules of Golf for 2019 that have just taken effect. Add to your knowledge and avoid getting penalty shots by making sure you read up on the new rules. They make the game easier to understand and apply for all golfers and also aim to make the game more attractive and accessible for newcomers. Happy reading and we hope you have a beautiful day!
