Dear readers,
The world is currently in an alarming condition. The coronavirus has become well-known around the globe where it has infected a total of more than 400,000 people. Having already claimed more than 19,000 lives, the figure tragically continues to mount.
Normal activities, including golf events, have been impacted by the outbreak which has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. All tournament schedules in the first half of the season have been postponed, or in some cases, canceled. These actions are necessary to minimize the further spread of this virus, and also protect all players, staff, and spectators from the virus. In this month’s edition, we are sharing details about these changes and the effect of the virus on the golf world.
By now, you’ll likely know that two majors, the US Masters Tournament and the PGA Championship, have been postponed. If the outbreak can be brought under control then the PGA Championship is set to tee off at a later date. Along with all of us golf fans, Brooks Koepka will be eagerly awaiting this moment. He’s hoping to secure a hat-trick victory at the second major of the year but he’ll have to defeat a fierce field including Rory McIlroy if he’s to get his hands on the Wanamaker Trophy again.
Despite the suspension of most golf tournaments for the time being, we will not stop delivering interesting features to keep you entertained. We hope you’ll enjoy practicing some of our golf drills at home and why not read our travel features so you can get planning your next trip once the outbreak is over and travel restrictions are lifted? The world, including our government, is doing the best they can to handle the ongoing COVID-19 situation. We can all help them by doing our part and work together to prevent the spread of the virus by maintaining social distancing and staying healthy.
Take care readers!
